Dawn was born with a passion for design running through her blood.  Her father, a custom home architect, exposed her as a child to all elements of design.  One of her favorite childhood pass times was walking new construction sites with her Dad, trying to envision the finished product.  She spent her teens constantly rearranging her bedroom and other spaces in their home, always trying to make more efficient use of the furnishings in the room.

After graduating college with a business degree, she spent the next eight years in the corporate world.  But her flare for design never ceased; staying up to date on the latest design trends and helping family and friends with their design selections.  Dawn was constantly striving to optimize form versus function in her homes.  She spent many nights after work rearranging living room and bedroom layouts – much to her husband’s chagrin!

After starting their family, Dawn left the corporate world to stay home with their boys.  She was able to channel her creativeness by collaborating with her husband, Jason, a custom home builder, with his new construction projects.  She learned after a few trial and errors the mastery of sticking to a budget while holding to that magic parallel between form and function.  After several years working alongside her Jason, Dawn started dsh design, fulfilling her lifelong passion for all things design.
